Five years in the past an excellent American scientist, renowned in high-tech army circles, all of sudden disappeared with out a hint off the streets of Washington, DC.
Now a professor at Cambridge college is murdered, a sufferer of surprising, historic chinese language torture tools. Counterspy Alex Hawke groups with former Scotland backyard leader inspector Ambrose Congreve to discover the killer, yet they quickly realize that this demise is only the outlet gambit in a demanding and deadly video game of geopolitical brinkmanship.
In the U.S., the president is behaving unevenly and a few start to query his health for management as adversarial exchanges and new applied sciences ramp up tensions among China, North Korea, and the United States—threatening western army superiority.
